Swamp Rose Mallow Seeds
Swamp rose mallow (hibiscus moscheutos) is a Michigan native plant that thrives in swamp areas or areas with moisture. This plant can also thrive in your home garden, if given sufficient water.
Fall planting: Choose an area with full to part sun, in fertile soil. Sow seeds 6" apart in workable soil. Seeds will naturally cold stratify and should sprout in the spring. Seedlings should mature over the summer and re-sprout the following spring, blossoming flowers in the 2nd or 3rd year.
Spring planting: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before your last frost. Cold stratify the seeds by refrigerating for 60 days before sowing. Place seeds in a seed start mix and keep moist until germination. Transplant seeds after all signs of frost have passed, place in an area that receives about 6 hours of sun per day. Water frequently until roots are established.
More info: Perennial, hardiness zones 5-10. Can grow up to 4’ tall. Organic and non-gmo.
Color: pink
