Organic Purple Coneflower Seeds (25)

Grow your own vibrant purple coneflowers with our pack of 25 organic seeds. Echinacea purpurea, commonly known as purple coneflower, is a hardy perennial known for its stunning, daisy-like blooms and its beneficial properties in herbal remedies. Perfect for pollinator gardens, these flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Grown organically without pesticides, our seeds ensure a healthy, sustainable addition to your garden. Whether for landscaping or herbal use, these easy-to-grow flowers thrive in various conditions and will return year after year!

Planting Instructions:

1. **When to Plant:**
   - For best results, sow seeds in early spring after the last frost or in the fall to allow for natural cold stratification.

2. **Seed Preparation:**
   - Purple coneflower seeds benefit from cold stratification. For spring planting, place seeds in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks before sowing. If planting in fall, no stratification is needed.

3. **Location:**
   - Choose a spot with full sun (6-8 hours of sunlight per day). Coneflowers prefer well-drained soil but can tolerate a variety of soil conditions, including clay and sandy soils. Can tolerate partial shade.

4. **Planting Depth:**
   - Sow seeds 1/8 inch deep. Gently press the seeds into the soil, and cover lightly with a fine layer of soil.

5. **Spacing:**
   - Space seeds or seedlings 12-18 inches apart to allow for growth and airflow.

6. **Watering:**
   - Keep the soil consistently moist until seeds germinate (approximately 10-20 days). Once established, coneflowers are drought-tolerant but will benefit from occasional watering during dry periods. No need to water if planting in the fall.

7. **Maintenance:**
   - Coneflowers are low-maintenance perennials. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering. Divide plants every 3-4 years to maintain plant health.

**Note**: Coneflowers can self-seed, providing you with new plants in the following seasons!

Plant may not flower the first year, but will germinate into greenery. The second year will provide multiple blooms.
